"This is a fantastic opportunity and together we will continue to build this beautiful project. The idea is to work together to achieve the objectives we set, and I'm very eager to start helping here in my new home."

Inter Miami co-owner Beckham said the move was "a dream come true".

"Ten years ago, when I started my journey to build a new team in Miami, I said that I dreamt of bringing the greatest players in the world to this amazing city," he said. "Players who shared the ambition I had when I joined LA Galaxy to help grow football in the USA and to build a legacy for the next generation in this sport that we love so much.

Beckham's dream has certainly become true once the so called 'GOAT' signed for Inter Miami. Messi was presented in front a sell-out crowd in the DRV PNK Stadium.

What Next for Inter Miami?

Inter Miami mission statement- We will bring world class fútbol to this world class city, once and for all. Fútbol that is as creative, exciting, unique, and multicultural as we are. Fútbol that makes people everywhere wish they could be here. Miami is the future—a hyperglobal, yet local community fuelled by intersection and interconnection.

Miami has a clear goal and mission which is to be a global force throughout the footballing community. Last year the club were granted access to build the Miami Freedom Park by The City of Miami Commission. This has taken a long time to get approved, hence the temporary stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

Miami Freedom Park will contain a 27,000-seat stadium, 750 hotel rooms, commercial and office space, community fields and the single largest public park in the city of Miami with over 58 acres of freely accessible, clean park land.

This is very unique and screams out what the club are trying to achieve. A staggering 750 hotel rooms shows a clear indication of the global impact the club desire.

Miami Freedom Park will become a recreational destination that all Miamians can enjoy, providing a 58-acre public park and green space, a tech hub, restaurants and shops, soccer fields for the community, a soccer stadium for Miami’s own Inter Miami, and many more features.

Miami Freedom Park received overwhelming support from City of Miami residents, having achieved 60% voter approval during last November’s referendum.

Jorge Mas, Inter Miami’s managing owner, has told the club’s official website: "I can’t wait to welcome our fans to our state-of-the-art stadium and hear the chants as Messi and your Inter Miami players take the pitch for the first time in 2025.”

Inter Miami will hope to carry on attracting some of the best players in world football. Messi’s arrival to the MLS one is of, if not the biggest coup in American soccer history. The last player to bring such hype and joy was Messi current boss David Beckham.

Beckham and Inter Miami will hope to carry on with these stars such as Alba, Busquets and obviously Messi. They have had former stars which have not worked out as well as they would have hoped, these included players such as Blaise Matuidi, Gonzalo Higuaín.

Both Matuidi and Higuain were expected to be the first big money signings to make a real impact in Florida. This did not work out, both players being in the twilight of the careers and retired shortly after.

The former Barcelona trio, Alba, Busquets and Messi are already making a huge impact for the club and setting a great example for the standards that should be set across the league.

The benefits of such big stars like the former Barcelona trio is that it inspires a younger generation. They will hope they will bring joy to the nation and global recognition for the club.

The future looks bright for soccer in America!
