Can anybody stop Harry Kane & Bayern Munich?

Can anybody stop Harry Kane & Bayern Munich?

As many of you will know, Harry Kane has signed for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Since Lewandowski left for Barcelona in 2022, they have failed to replace the polish international…until now!

Harry Kane who was on his way to beat Alan Shearer’s record in the premier league, decided to hinder that task and test himself in a new country.

Kane has had an excellent start to the season with the England captain scoring 3 goals in 2 games in the Bundesliga. Nobody would be surprised if Kane could go on to achieve at least 30 goals.

Kane will hope to keep his scoring prowess up and moving away from his boyhood club will all be worth it if he finally get's his hand on a trophy at the end of the season.

However, this deal to get the former Spurs man was no easy task.

This was an ongoing transfer saga throughout summer and many thought that the deal would not get done.

With Daniel Levy at the centre of attention again, the Spurs owner wanted to bleed every penny out of Bayern for their captain.

Daniel Levy's negotiating tacticts clearly worked as Bayern believed that it was still worth paying at just over a 100 million. Now Bayern have no excuse to underachieve this year in any competition.

Having a striker who has unbelievable talent not only at finishing, but his overall play is good as anybody in Europe. With the likes of Gnabry, Coman, Sane they should have plenty of pace surrounding him to utilise Kane's passing ability.

Bayern have won the last 11 Bundesliga’s in a row, which has led to utter dominance and frustration for other clubs in the league.

However, this is not as predictable as it seems, last season the fact that it was secured on the final day of the season, in a dramatic twist shocked many and it was snatched from the grasp of Borussia Dortmund!

If the transfer market is any indicator, challengers like Dortmund and RB Leipzig will find it difficult to keep up. While Bayern added Tottenham Hotspur legend and England captain Harry Kane, while the Black and Yellow saw a generational young talent depart the club for the third straight summer, as Jude Bellingham left for Real Madrid.

Today, we will investigate the teams with the greatest chance of stopping Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title.

Borussia Dortmund

Dortmund is the last team to win the title before Bayern’s dominance. They are also the team to come the closest in previous years. Last year, it really did seem like Dortmund were going to come out on top. Only down to a poor last day performance ensured they missed out once again.

This year they do not have the same fire power and it is hard to see them pushing Bayern as much as they did. However, the league would be very grateful if they proved everybody wrong.

They have an incredible transfer policy, and it has worked for them well in the past. So, why not trust in their process?

They always replace the superstars they sell, this year being Bellingham. BVB have signed Felix Nmecha and Marcel Sabitzer to help fill the void, but they are nowhere near as dominant as Bellingham was during large stretches of last season.

Dortmund will look to ensure that they can break Bayern’s dominance before fans start questioning the leagues competitiveness.

Sabitzer could be a very good signing, before moving to Bayern he was classed as one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga. He then went to Manchester United and started to regain his form. Dortmund normally knows how to maximise players potential and will hope this is the same.

Dortmund have a key player in Julian Brandt, he had a slow start to life at Dortmund with many calling him a flop. He claims to of changed his diet and last year his form really picked up and this year he has a chance to become the star man for the Yellow and Black

 RB Leipzig

The Red Bull franchise have been hugely successful but none more so than German club RB Leipzig. They have a similar approach to Dortmund as they look to buy young prospects and sell high. They have had huge transfer fees with the likes of Nkunku, Gvardiol and Ande Silva leaving.

In Nkunku, Szoboszlai and Real Sociedad loanee Andre Silva, Leipzig have lost players who combined for 42 goals and 27 assists in all competitions last season.

Normally, this would be cause for concern for a club like Leipzig, but they seemed to have replaced these players with some quality. They have decided to bring in former Lens striker Openda.

The Belgium forward is rapid and lethal in front of goal scoring 21 goals last season for Lens. Openda could suit Leipzig style of play perfectly, similar playing style to Timo Werner, lighting pace across the front line would stare fear into the opponents.

Arguably Leipzig have brought in the best two loanees in Europe in Xavi Simons and Fabio Carvalho. Xavi Simons is classed as one of the best young talents in Europe. The young Dutchman was pivotal for PSV last year and now RB Leipzig have secured his signature for one year.

With the likes of Dani Olmo, Timo Werner, Xavi Simons, Fabio Carvalho, and Benjamin Sesko- Leipzig could possess one of the best attacks in Europe never mind just the Bundesliga!

The biggest concern for Leipzig is the defence, in fact this has always been their downfall when it came to winning games. With Gvardiol going to Manchester City for a world record fee for a defender, they have not done enough to replace him. Signing an 18-year-old with huge potential is great for the future, it doesn’t strike you with confidence for immediate results.

They will hope he goes down a similar path to Gvardiol and Upamecano who both have flourished and moved on for huge fees. Trusting such a young talent could be a benefit but also, it could lead to a lot of goals being conceded if it does not go well.

Bayern Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen have been very impressive Since Xavi Alonso’s arrival. Alonso has been a blessing for the Werkself, who had been struggling before the former Liverpool and Real Madrid star took over last October. While he is no tactical marvel, he has proven to get the best out of large parts of Leverkusen's squad.

When Leverkusen have been at the best, young wonderkid Wirtz has been at the heart of it.

The technical prowess and intense playing style of the gifted attacking midfielder make him the perfect fit for Alonso's tactical philosophy.

As the Leverkusen manager wants his team to play fast transition attacks, Wirtz is usually the one to speed things up once he gets on the ball.

Leverkusen are aware that the 20-year-old won't stay with the club forever, thus they need to make the most out of Wirtz while they have him. – Eckner

Bayer Leverkusen may not be one of the favourites to challenge Bayern, but they are football flicks underdogs for the title! They have everything they need to push on this year, despite losing Diaby they still showcased their ability against a brilliant RB Leipzig with a 3-1 win.

Roundup

When we look at the three teams that could potentially challenge Bayern, they all have one thing in common which separates them to do the German Giants. They all sell big star players to free up money, they are all very well-run clubs with huge profit margins sailing in for their stars. Bayern are bringing in some of the best players in Europe, while the rest are selling.

This doesn’t mean that it isn’t possible, there has been so very astute signings by these clubs, and they will hope it will drive them to that next level. So many stars have been born in the Bundesliga and this year we are certainly going to see a new pool of talent on show in Germany!
