2020 Rewind
Another year is coming to an end and this has been a year like no other. It’s been a challenging year for everyone in a multitude of different ways, but here at Football Flick, we’re happy we managed to bring a bit of joy to thousands of back gardens, despite the Global Pandemic.
We started 2020 strongly, releasing for sale more products with our Retailer Partner ‘The Very Group’, listing our Urban Goals, Urban Corner Shot Top Bins & several popular products from the Training Essential Range. We’re pleased to bring better access to our products UK wide, this was a great & significant first milestone for us to mark the start of 2020.
In 2018, we thought we’d pay a visit to Mount Everest with John Farnworth’s Guinness World Record Attempt of the most kick-ups to Everest’s base camp. In 2020, we thought we’d help take it one step further.
In March 2020, John Farnworth, powered by Football Flick, did thousands of kick-ups across Lake Baikal, the oldest, largest and deepest freshwater lake in the world, smashing the Guinness World Record.
All the proceeds raised from the challenge are to be donated to Cancer Research. John Farnworth is currently raffling the custom Football Flick x Siberia Challenge balls now, so click here if you want to grab this limited edition ball & help support the fight against Cancer.
The Pandemic raged on & here in the UK & worldwide; Governments instituted lockdowns worldwide, telling everyone to stay at home to help stop the spread of the virus. Grassroots & Professional Football was suspended until further notice. However, those lucky enough to have back garden space could still do their bit outside.
Football Flick found thousands of new players in this time and our products sold out across all of our retailer partners. Some of these new players, some of you might have heard of before; the likes of Harry Maguire, Jill Scott & Billy Sharp all had got Football Flick set up in their Garden and kept themselves sharp when they needed it most.
After several months of lockdown, restrictions started to ease and here at Football Flick, we saw an opportunity to help try and bring a more formal & COVID Secure setting outdoor training. After weeks of development, we created the Football Flick Academy, for U18s Academy and Grassroots players and we were delighted with the take-up.
Former Academy Players from Liverpool FC, Wigan FC & Blackpool FC all came down to help get fit, sharp & practice their technique, all thanks to Football Flick. We’re delighted that the Academy boasts some fantastic graduates, who this season have gone onto great things, like Niall Brookwell, who’s signed his first Professional deal with Newcastle Utd or Caden Kelly, who’s joined Sunderland AFC’s Academy after Graduating the Football Flick Academy.
